Smart Cities: How Data and Technology can drive the nation forward?
About this Event
Rapid urbanization has taken Asia by storm. Cities all over Asia are now experiencing exponential population growth, even beyond that of infrastructure development. This creates a host of new challenges ranging from congestion to environmental issues such as pollution.
Enter the concept of "Smart Cities". By leveraging upon the latest emerging information and communications technologies, critical city operations such as traffic planning , transportation management, and other city services can be improved significantly. Done right, smart cities have the potential to alleviate some of the major challenges of urbanisation, bring citizens closer to government, and open up new opportunities for companies and investors in emerging fields such as smart mobility.
The City Architecture for Tomorrow Challenge is a global challenge organised by the Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF) and co-developed by Deloitte Future of Mobility Solution Centre (FoM), to support and source for innovative, data-driven solutions worldwide to mitigate the risk of urbanisation and install efficiency in urban planning and transportation management.
Participants from start-ups, academic and research institutions, corporates, or even the general public - are all welcome to contribute solutions to reimagine the future of urban planning and transportation management. Moreover, TMF/FoM will also be holding roadshows in conjunction with other partners in cities across Asia to share more about the mobility issues in Asia and how innovation can help tackle these problems.
What Attendees can Expect?
Other than key information about the Challenge, attendees can expect to come out with a deeper understanding of the mobility landscape, from varied areas such as data management, new business models, to electric vehicle optimization.
The roadshow will also provide attendees with high-level insights from industry leaders regarding the future of mobility. Attendees will garner a greater understanding of how they can contribute and participate in this transformative ecosystem of global mobility.
